Since the early 1970s, Helga Götze has challenged the sexual morality of bourgeois society in the Federal Republic of Germany and devoted herself to sex in art, poetry and public protest. Over 3,000 poems, 300 paintings and 150 embroideries bear witness to her struggle to redefine the role of women and sexuality in our patriarchal society. The “Goetzinnensammlung”, explores Helga's work through reenactment, reproduction, embroidery, text, 3D scans and more. It is a multimedia approach to an extraordinary artist at the intersection of art and activism.
